Austin, TX (March 5, 2020) – Following regulatory approval from the California Department of Managed Health Care, Membersy Holdings LLC (“membersy”), the Austin-based digital health company that provides dental practices with thoughtfully designed membership programs to make dental care more approachable, has closed on its recent acquisition of The CDI Group, Inc. (“The CDI Group”), a Los Angeles-based Knox-Keene licensed health care company that creates and administers dental membership plans on behalf of more than 3,000 dental practices across the United States.

The acquisition combines the core competencies and scale of The CDI Group with membersy’s industry leading platform. With the completion of the acquisition, membersy will power dental membership programs for many of the country’s largest dental services organizations (“DSOs”). In total, more than 4,000 dental practices and 800,000 members now utilize the membersy platform for a more connected dental experience.

Founded in 2015 by Eric Johnson, membersy’s rapid expansion indicates that the company is not slowing down in its mission to disrupt the broken dental insurance model through subscription-based dental care. In October of last year, membersy received a strategic investment from Bregal Sagemount, an NYC-based venture capital firm, and shortly thereafter announced it had entered into an agreement to acquire The CDI Group. With the new funding in hand, membersy has a lot of anticipated product and service offerings ahead.

“We’re thrilled to welcome The CDI Group’s incredible team and long-standing industry partners to the membersy family,” said Eric Johnson, CEO of membersy. “The CDI team has built one heck of a company, and we look forward to working with our new colleagues and channel partners.”

Going forward, the combined entities will collaborate in the development and rollout of new and innovative solutions with the goal of helping industry partners more effectively attract, service, and retain patients by delivering a membership experience that’s second-to-none.
