Employee Spotlight: Sol Perez, Support Specialist

Q: When did you start with membersy, and how has the company grown since you’ve joined?

“I started with membersy last August 2020. Our company has grown tremendously this past year. We have successfully merged most of our dental plans into one central website which has made this process go by more smoothly. I am excited to see what’s in store for our company in the future!”

Q: What does a typical day look like working as a Support Specialist at membersy?

I like to check my emails and slack messages in the morning for any important information or announcements. I take calls at 8 am every day and help our members with any issues that may arise. Most members are in the older generation and still need help renewing their plan. We help them sign up or cancel their plan, update address or phone number, etc..In between calls from our members I can be seen responding to member emails or returning voicemail calls. I also process any paper applications from brochures and enter them into our website and create their accounts. I stop taking calls at 4:15 pm and go home. 🙂 

Q: What is a piece of advice you would give to someone working in customer support?

“I’ve been working in various customer service jobs since I was 16, so about 10 years now. The most important thing I have learned is to always have patience with people because you never know what they are dealing with. Treat them the way you would want someone to treat your own family member. Be kind and have attention to detail.”

Q: What is your favorite part of working at membersy?

“I enjoy our company outings. Our stocked kitchen and company perks rock! Also, taking the day off for our birthdays is the cherry on top.”

Q: What is a fact about you that would surprise your coworkers?

“I am an open book and love hanging out outside of work with my coworkers that sit close to me. Possibly our other half of the team in the west wing and our staff in California don’t know that I sometimes bartend on the side for various clubs in Austin and for my friend’s private parties.”
