Here at membersy, we understand that our industry-leading dental subscription management and billing platform would be nothing without our incredible employees. Each month, we make it a priority to showcase the talented employees who have worked tirelessly to build membersy from a small startup in 2015 to the company it is today. This month, our employee under the spotlight is Laura Granfortuna, our Front-End Developer.
Q: What is your job title?
A: Front-end developer
Q: How long have you been with Membersy? / How has the company changed since you’ve been here?
A: I’ve only been here about seven months, but the company has grown a lot since I joined. Very soon after I started, we got $66 million from Spectrum Equity, so we’ve had the capacity to hire for several new positions and implement new structures to streamline operations.
Q: What does your typical day look like?
A: I usually spend the morning getting my priorities in order or finishing up small tasks, then I dig into programming for a while, and there are usually one or two meetings during my day with either the design team, the engineers, or the SEO team. Some days during lunch I like to go for a run on the hike and bike trail since it’s right across from our office!
Q: What is your favorite thing about working for Membersy?
A: I like that we are helping make important medical services more accessible to people who might not otherwise be able to afford them. Also, the fact that we’re still a small company means that everything I do makes an impact and gives me the opportunity to operate within different roles.
Q: What is a fact that would surprise your coworkers?
A: I think there is a lot that would surprise people – I’m a classically trained singer and also write my own songs, I like woodworking, I collect swords, and I’m a big sci-fi nerd – a short list of my many interests!
Q: What drew you to Membersy originally?
A: Definitely the company mission, the relaxed atmosphere, and the great location!
Q: Where is your favorite place to be?
A: Outside! I spend a lot of time in the woods and at the river.
Q: If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
A: Play jazz piano. I’m working on it!
Q: If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
A: Freddy Mercury.
Q: If you could live in any time period, what would it be and why?
A: This one! I like antibiotics and women’s rights 🙂
Q: Who were your top artists on Spotify this year?
A: Jungle, Alt-J, Flying Lotus, Herbie Hancock, Stereolab, Steely Dan, and Baden Powell.
Thank you for all that you do for us, Laura!
